How do I get to Suchipakari Lodge?
The journey to Suchipakari Lodge often starts in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, which is well-connected to the world via its international airport. There are daily flights from major cities in South and Central America, as well as excellent connections from North America (Miami, New York, Houston, Atlanta) and Europe (Madrid, Amsterdam). Due to flight schedules, an overnight stay in Quito is usually required.
The trip from Quito Airport to the lodge takes about 4 hours. There is an extra charge for transportation, and you have three options: public bus, shared taxi, or private tourist transportation.
Suchipakari Lodge also offers private transportation that can pick you up from any city in Ecuador and bring you directly to the lodge.

What is the weather like at Suchipakari Amazon Lodge?
The weather at Suchipakari Amazon Lodge is typically warm and humid, characteristic of the Amazon rainforest. Temperatures usually range from 77°F (25°C) to 86°F (30°C) throughout the year. The region experiences frequent rainfall, especially from December to May, making it lush and green. Despite the rain, there are plenty of sunny days, perfect for exploring the rainforest. Be prepared for occasional showers and pack accordingly with light, breathable clothing and rain gear.
What if my clothes get wet?
No need to worry if your clothes get wet from river-splashing or downpours! We offer a clothes laundry and drying service for all guests at an extra cost. Your garments will be returned within 12 to 24 hours of delivery, depending on demand. This service ensures you can continue enjoying your adventure without any inconvenience.
What animals can I expect to see at Suchipakari Lodge?
At Suchipakari Lodge, you can encounter a remarkable diversity of wildlife. The forest is home to an estimated 160 species of amphibians and reptiles, 123 species of mammals, and 262 bird species, including 36 endemics, fluttering through the canopy. You may also spot monkeys, sloths, anteaters, caimans, and even the elusive ocelot. The reserve, crisscrossed by swamps, waterfalls, and dramatic, verdant hills, provides habitats for these creatures.
While some animals are harder to spot, our guided trails and motorized canoe tours to areas like Isla Anaconda, Kawana Reserve, Caiman Lake, and the animal rescue center offer better opportunities for sightings. Additionally, a vast range of frogs, toads, and butterflies are easy to observe within the reserve.
Will I get bitten by mosquitoes?
There are fewer mosquitoes in the Suchipakari Forest than you might expect, but it's still advisable to take precautions. Wear long sleeves and pants, and use plenty of repellent while exploring the forest to minimize the risk of bites.
What about creepy-crawlies in my bedroom?
Outside your window may be abuzz with life, but inside, Suchipakari Lodge is a bug-free zone! To help keep it that way, we recommend not bringing food to your room, keeping your windows closed, and turning off the lights at night to prevent anything from coming in.
What are the check-in and check-out times at the Lodge?
Guests typically arrive at the lodge around 12:30 PM. Rooms are available for check-in after lunch, around 1:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM, with the possibility of a late check-out depending on availability. Please inquire at the reception for late check-out requests.
Do I have to bring my own boots and raincoats?
The Lodge provides rubber boots for all forest activities, which are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between uses. Life jackets for river activities are also provided and carried by your guide.
Ponchos for rainstorms are available for purchase at the reception.

Your room rate includes:
- Relax Plan: Lodging and breakfast.
- Nomad Plan: All meals, lodging, and 4 activities inside the reserve.
- Discovery Program: Accommodation, activities inside and outside with a naturalist guide, all meals, and soft drinks, plus use of facilities.
Your room rate does not include: taxes, transportation from Quito or other cities, alcoholic or soft drinks, spa services, and additional services (available at an extra cost).

To confirm your reservation, a partial or full deposit is required upon booking.
