¿HOW TO PREPARE FOR A PLANT MEDICINE RETREAT?
Monkeys, medicinal plants, river beaches and rainforest... ¿What more could you ask for?
AYAHUASCA PREPARATION
At least 3 days before the retreat, we recommend that you stop consuming the following (the sooner the better):
- Alcohol
- Fermented, aged, or pickled foods (Miso, yeast, tofu, tamari, soy sauce, chili, salt, sugar)
- Heavy meats (especially pork)
- Dairy, sausages
- Overripe fruit, avocado
- Vitamins, supplements, and protein drinks
- Fried and/or spicy food
- Limit salt, oil, processed sugars, and caffeine.
- No drugs, tobacco, and abstain from sexual relations
Adequate physical preparation reduces the chances of experiencing difficulties and intense purges during the ceremony. Additionally, following a diet before coming shows commitment and will help you reaffirm your intentions.¿Cómo prepararse para un retiro con plantas medicinales?
What to Eat to Prepare for an Ayahuasca Ceremony
The best way to prepare is to follow a diet rich in fresh, natural, unprocessed foods, primarily including fruits and vegetables.
The simplest approach is to maintain a light, vegetarian diet. Eating vegetables, brown rice, quinoa, oats, and lentils is a good option.
Try to eat organic foods as much as possible and drink plenty of water. In our area, chicken and tilapia maito are perfect for consumption.
Can I Take Prescription Medications?
Many medications, especially MAOI or SSRI antidepressants, can be dangerous when combined with ayahuasca.
Consult your doctor before stopping any medication. Let us know what medications you are taking or have taken in the past. It is essential that health information is honest and accurate. We will work with you to ensure your journey is as safe as possible.
How to Mentally Prepare for a Retreat
Another prerequisite for working with master plants is detoxifying the mind: limiting thoughts, beliefs, and fears. We recommend limiting the time you spend on social media, such as television, movies, the internet, Facebook.
We suggest spending as much time as possible in peace and, above all, in contact with nature.
We recommend coming without expectations and being honest with yourself about the motivation that drives you to work with ayahuasca. Take your time to formulate one or more intentions.
Whenever possible, we recommend engaging in physical exercise and practices that connect body and mind, such as yoga, meditation, and especially refreshing yourself in the river and waterfall.
To get the most out of an ayahuasca ceremony, the participant should have clear intentions and an open heart. The attitude you bring will be the determining factor that influences the degree to which you will benefit.
