AMAZON AND ANDES ITINERARY – 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS


  

DAY 1: QUITO TO AMAZON: ANTISANA VIEWPOINT + WATERFALL HIKE +KAWANA LAGOON + KICHWA CULTURE 

KAWANA LAGOON

Your private journey begins with an early departure from Quito, traveling through Ecuador’s Eastern Andes toward the Amazon Basin. Along the way, enjoy a scenic stop at an Antisana Volcano viewpoint, where the landscapes shift from high páramo to tropical rainforest.

Next, stretch your legs with a refreshing hike to Waskayaku Waterfall, a hidden jungle gem surrounded by lush vegetation and birdsong. We then continue to Misahuallí for lunch (not included) before visiting the famous Monkey Beach in Puerto Misahuallí, where capuchin monkeys are often seen along the riverside.

In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Kawana Lagoon, one of the most beautiful natural reserves in the region, known for its wildlife, calm waters, and Amazon atmosphere.

You’ll also visit a Kichwa community, where you’ll experience local traditions through dance, handicrafts, and sacred sites with ancestral meaning.

Later, arrive at Suchipakari Amazon Lodge, located deep in the Upper Napo rainforest. After dinner, end your day with a guided night walk, when the jungle comes alive with nocturnal wildlife.

 


 

DAY 2: AMAZON TO BAÑOS DE AGUA SANTA — WATERFALLS ROUTE & ADVENTURE DAY

BAÑOS DE AGUA SANTA - TREE HOUSE SWING END OF THE WORLD After breakfast, we depart by private transfer to Baños de Agua Santa, Ecuador’s most iconic adventure town, set between rivers, cliffs, and waterfalls.

Optional stop: Mira Mera Viewpoint (not included), offering panoramic valley views.

Once in Baños, explore the legendary Route of the Waterfalls, one of the most scenic drives in Ecuador. Enjoy a guided hike to the impressive Pailón del Diablo Waterfall, where mist and roaring water create an unforgettable experience (lunch not included).

In the afternoon, you may choose to ride the cable car over Manto de la Novia or Agoyán Waterfall. We also visit the famous Tree House, where you can swing at the iconic “End of the World” with breathtaking views.

Dinner is not included. In the evening, you may add an optional City by Night Tour to enjoy Baños’ lively ambiance.

 


 

DAY 3: BAÑOS TO QUILOTOA CRATER LAKE - TIGUA ART – TOACHI CANYON - COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK – QUITO

COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK - COTOPAXI VOLCANOE

After breakfast, we begin our journey into the Andean highlands. Today combines Ecuador’s most iconic scenery with authentic cultural moments.

Our first stop is a traditional Tigua art workshop, where local artists preserve a unique Andean painting tradition recognized worldwide. Next, we visit the dramatic Toachi River Canyon, carved deep into the Andes — a perfect panoramic stop for photos.

We then continue to Quilotoa Crater Lake, where you’ll enjoy a panoramic viewpoint of the emerald lagoon inside a volcanic crater (lunch not included). Even without a full trek, this is one of Ecuador’s most iconic landscapes.

In the afternoon, we travel to Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. Enjoy a visit to Limpiopungo Lagoon, stop at the Interpretation Center, and admire panoramic views of Cotopaxi’s snow-capped summit.

Finally, we return to Quito, ending your private Andes & Amazon experience.
