Day 1 – Arrival & First Encounter with the Jungle

  • Welcome to the Amazon: Your adventure begins at the Pusuno Bajo River. Our staff will assist you with your luggage and guide you through the rainforest to Suchipakari Amazon Lodge.

  • Arrival & Check-in: Refresh with a tropical welcome snack while your naturalist guide shares an introduction to the lodge, services, and your upcoming itinerary.

  • Lunch at the Lodge: Enjoy a delicious meal prepared with fresh local ingredients.

  • Introductory Jungle Walk: Step into the rainforest on a guided hike along forest trails. Encounter towering Ceibo trees, colorful flora, and learn about the medicinal plants that indigenous communities have used for centuries.

  • River Tubing Adventure: In the afternoon, float downstream on the Pusuno River surrounded by lush vegetation—a refreshing way to experience the beauty of the Amazon.

  • Dinner & Night Walk: After a hearty dinner, set out with your flashlight for a guided night walk. Discover the jungle’s nocturnal world: owls, bats, frogs, insects, and with some luck, tarantulas or snakes under a breathtaking starlit sky.

  • Overnight – fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the rainforest.

 


 

Day 2 – Wildlife & Culture of the AmazonDay 2 – Wildlife & Culture of the Amazon

  • Breakfast at the Lodge

  • Motorized Canoe & Wildlife Spotting: Navigate along the Napo River, observing monkeys, toucans, parrots, and the prehistoric hoatzin bird.

  • Amazon Animal Rescue Center: Visit Amazoonico, a rescue sanctuary protecting endangered species such as monkeys, parrots, boa and other Amazon wildlife.

  • Lunch in Nature & Kichwa Community Experience: Visit a local family to learn blowgun hunting techniques, cassava farming, and the preparation of chicha de yuca. Share traditional dances, taste local dishes, and support community crafts.

  • Caiman Spotting on Anaconda Island: As the day closes, take a canoe to a lagoon where caimans rest, and explore the island’s wildlife.

  • Dinner & Overnight at the Lodge

  • Guided Rainforest Hike: Trek through primary and secondary forest with your guide. Discover medicinal plants, exotic insects, and colorful bird species. The hike leads to a stunning hidden waterfall where you can take a refreshing swim.

  • Picnic Lunch: Freshly prepared box lunch in a natural setting.

  • Monkey’s River Beach: Relax on sandy shores by the river, an ideal spot for swimming or birdwatching

  • Kawana Lagoon Reserve is a pristine natural sanctuary, best explored by paddle canoe. As you glide through its calm waters, you may spot the legendary giant Paiche fish, playful monkeys, colorful toucans, sleepy sloths, and hundreds of bird species that call this paradise home

  • Dinner & Leisure: savor a delicious dinner, then relax your way—kayak, massage, or simply unwind in your jungle suite
