AMAZON RAINFOREST ITINERARY – 4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS
DAY 1: WELCOME TO QUITO - THE CITY OF ETERNAL SPRING
Upon arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your boutique hotel in Quito’s UNESCO-listed historic center.
After settling in, embark on a private guided city tour. Discover ornate colonial churches, hidden convents, and cobblestone streets that tell the story of one of South America’s most enchanting capitals.
DAY 2: JOURNEY TO THE AMAZON
After breakfast, begin your day with a rejuvenating soak in the Papallacta Hot Springs, surrounded by the stunning peaks of the Andes. Then, descend into the tropical lowlands as the landscape transforms into lush rainforest.
En route to the Amazon, stop at Monkey Beach in Puerto Misahuallí, where playful capuchin monkeys welcome you to the jungle. Upon arrival at Suchipakari Amazon Lodge, enjoy a delicious welcome lunch before your first guided rainforest experience.
In the afternoon, your naturalist guide will lead an introductory jungle walk, sharing insights about medicinal plants, giant trees, and the incredible biodiversity of the region. Later, cool off with a tubing adventure down the river — a relaxing and fun way to connect with the rhythm of the rainforest.
After dinner, get ready for a fascinating Night Walk, where the jungle comes alive with the sounds and sights of nocturnal wildlife.
DAY 3: NAPO RIVER EXCURSION – CULTURE & WILDLIFE
After breakfast, set out on a motorized canoe expedition along the Napo River, gliding through untouched rainforest scenery alive with the sounds of nature. Visit a Wildlife Rescue Center, where animals once harmed or displaced are lovingly rehabilitated and prepared for release back into the wild — an inspiring look at conservation in action.
Continue to Anaconda Island, a lush sanctuary for caimans, hoatzins, and a rainbow of tropical birds. Enjoy a box lunch deep in the jungle, surrounded by the symphony of the Amazon.
In the afternoon, experience authentic Kichwa Indigenous culture as you learn about traditional dances, ancient customs, and artisanal crafts passed down through generations. On the return, make a short stop at Ceramic Town, renowned for its beautiful handmade pottery.
End the day back at Suchipakari Amazon Lodge, where dinner awaits and the rainforest hums softly around you — a perfect conclusion to a day of wildlife, culture, and connection to the heart of the Amazon.
DAY 4: BAÑOS DE AGUA SANTA – WATERFALLS & ADVENTURE - TUNGURAHUA VOLCANOE
Travel toward Baños de Agua Santa, a charming town nestled between mountains and rivers.
Follow the famous Route of the Waterfalls, hike to the breathtaking Pailón del Diablo, and enjoy a thrilling cable-car ride over the Manto de la Novia falls.
Don’t miss the iconic Swing at the End of the World at La Casa del Árbol.
Dinner is on your own — or take an optional City by Night tour for views of the illuminated valley.
After Breakfast, start your morning with a visit to the famous Swing at the End of the World for sweeping views over the valley. Continue along the Route of the Waterfalls, crossing by cable car over the Manto de la Novia and hiking to the powerful Pailón del Diablo.
After lunch, descend into the Upper Napo Amazon, with optional stops at Mira Mera viewpoint or the Casa de la Balsa workshop. Upon arrival at Suchipakari Amazon Lodge, enjoy a welcome dinner and an optional night walk or campfire under the stars.
DAY 5: COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK - THE ANDES AT ITS PEAK
After breakfast, explore the rugged beauty of Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the world’s highest active volcanoes.
Choose between a horseback ride across the páramo or a guided hike to the José Rivas Refuge (4,864 m / 15,958 ft).
Before returning to Quito, visit the serene Limpiopungo Lagoon, framed by snow-capped peaks — a perfect finale to your Ecuador adventure.
