DAY 1 | RAINFOREST INTRODUCTION

Starting from the lodge, your guide can lead you through several trails (with varying levels of difficulty) winding through the dense and humid TROPICAL RAINFOREST.A representative from Suchipakari from the city of Quito will assist you in traveling to the Suchipakari Reserve. Upon arrival at the mouth of the Pusuno Bajo River, our staff will be there to assist you with your luggage. Once at the lodge, you will be greeted with an energizing tea, and our lodge manager will offer a brief orientation about the facilities. Then, we will show you to your room and proceed with the Welcome Lunch at our restaurant.

RAINFOREST TRAIL: Starting from the lodge, your guide can lead you through several trails (with varying levels of difficulty) winding through the dense and humid TROPICAL RAINFOREST.

These trails, lasting from half an hour to 4 hours, connect to the river or lake, traversing muddy paths as we search for local wildlife.

RIVER TUBING: After the journey, nothing is more refreshing than water. In this fun activity, you'll float on a buoy, using your hands to paddle. With the sky and banks filled with trees, you can fully relax. You can embark on this adventure alone or with a partner. ¡Don't forget your life jacket and sandals!

After Dinner, NIGHT HIKE: The chorus of frogs announces that the forest comes alive in the darkness. Don't forget to bring a flashlight for this tour, where we can observe nocturnal monkeys, owls, snakes, amphibians, and even catch glimpses of caimans. It's also an excellent opportunity to STARGAZE and identify constellations!

Jungle Lodging

DAY 2 | IMMERSE IN HUAORANI CULTURE

Immerse yourself in a unique experience with one of the ethnic groups inhabiting the Amazon: the Waorani, also known as Huaorani.

Following breakfast, we'll depart early in the morning in a private vehicle towards Huaorani territory.

Our first stop will be at Laguna Kawana, a wildlife sanctuary.

There, we'll embark on paddle canoes to observe a variety of species, from monkeys jumping in the trees, Hoatzins, tapirs, to charapa turtles and the impressive paiche, the giant of the Amazonian rivers. 

We'll continue our journey by venturing into the dense and lush tropical rainforest, crossing hanging bridges and rivers, until we reach the area inhabited by the Waorani people.

We'll be welcomed by the locals, who will introduce us to their fascinating culture and traditions.

We'll participate in cultural activities such as spear and blowgun hunting demonstrations, rituals with medicinal plants, fruit gathering, fishing, crafting, and learning basic words in the Huaorani language.

Upon bidding farewell to the Huaorani community, we'll return to Suchipakari Lodge. We strongly believe in sustainable tourism, and each family in the community has its own enterprise. You'll have the opportunity to acquire natural souvenirs, such as handicrafts. Return to the Lodge.

Arrival at Suchipakari Lodge and free time to relax with our spa therapies or enjoy the lodge facilities, such as the scenic bar, walking trails, or outdoor resting areas.

In the evening, we'll savor a delicious dinner at the lodge and have free time to reflect on the enriching experience with the Huaorani and share anecdotes with other guests.

DAY 3 | CHOCOLATE ROUTE | CHECK OUT

After breakfast, indulge in the Amazon on your palate as you embark on a fascinating adventure through the Chocolate Route. We'll kick off our day with a journey among lush cocoa trees, where you'll have the chance to taste the fruit straight from the tree and learn about the planting, harvesting, and meticulous fermentation process carried out by our "fine aroma" cocoa agrotourism project. We'll conclude this unforgettable experience with an exciting chocolate-making and tasting session, where you'll discover the natural benefits this delight offers to its consumers.
