Health, recreation & relaxation... three important reasons to visit us
The thermal baths are located on the banks of the Papallacta river in a unique natural environment accommodating nine hot thermal pools and three cold water pools. The resort restaurant offers a diverse menu to cater for all tastes. You can also purchase snacks and drinks at the kiosk.
The clinic staff will attend emergencies and are happy to give consultations related to thermal spa use.
Hot Springs
The hydrothermal value of Termas de Papallacta's Hot Springs is thanks to Papallacta's location between two volcanoes, Volcano Cayambe and Volcano Antisana.
The source temperature of the thermal baths varies between 30°C and 70°C (86°F and 158°F). At the pools the temperature ranges from 36°C to 40°C (97°F to 104°F). Papallacta´s thermal waters contain sulfates, sodium, calcium, chloride and traces of magnesium which are odourless, colourless but have a slightly salty taste.

The sleepy port village of Misahuallí on the Napo River consists of a handful of family owned shops, eateries and hostels that surround a shady tree lined plaza. The village affords calming views out over the rushing Napo River, and there are always a short river, canoes docked and waiting at the water’s edge. Nearly everyone who lives and works in the center of Misahuallí is there to cater to the constant influx of tourists. Guides hand out cards and informational flyers, mothers cook up traditional fare and shop owners carry a list of items you may have forgotten, like rolls of toilet paper, extra batteries and individually wrapped snacks. You may also notice men walking around with humongous snakes draped across their shoulders. Pay a dollar for the chance to take a photo with one of these monsters (the snakes, not the owners).

The jungle town of Puyo is accessible, convenient and fun. Just six hours from Quito and a bike ride away from the tourist hotspot of Baños, or almost hour an a half by public transport, Puyo is an especially attractive option for travelers who’d really like to visit the jungle, but maybe don’t have enough time or money to travel into the nether regions. In recent years the town has seen substantial growth, specifically in its tourist infrastructure, making it easy to find suitable accommodations, restaurants and guided tours. Visitors also need not worry about stuffing their packs with extra supplies, as most modern day conveniences are available here. Puyo has the best of both worlds really, because in addition to being—for jungle standards—fairly modern, it also serves as a gateway into the wilderness; local guides and tour agencies offer countless opportunities for wildlife observation, adventure sports, community tourism and hiking.
